Interview

Exclusive, no holds barred sit down with the one and only Preacher…

Jimmy - So Preach how long have you been playing themobster.com?

Preach - I’ve been playing since round four.

Jimmy - Wow, I really wish I was around back then, back in the glory days as they say. So how did you first here about themobster.com?

Preach - My best friend and roomate asked me to join and help him with his family hells angels.

Jimmy - Speaking of families, which families have you been a part of?

Preach - God there is a question, I’ve been in Gambino, IO, TCF, Evolution, Hooligans, Yakuza to name a few as well as a familes and unions that I started myself.

Jimmy - Your probably best known for being the don of Apocolypse, will we ever see that family again?

Preach - Only time will tell but no doubt if mobster survives its current struggles, and I get my real life back on track, and start making the money I used too make I’ll consider a revival.

Jimmy - Yeah I know what that can be like, I’m going through a similar situation myself where I don’t have the extra couple bucks to spend on a game any longer. You have three godfather awards, all of which were won as the don of Apocolypse, why was it so successful, even though only for a short time?

Preach - Honestly Apocolypse was suppose to be just a one round deal untill I realized how much drama and entertainment it provided. It was so successful because of the high end supporters that came in. They simply didn’t care about profit they were just money bags with attitude and to be honest and I loved seeing them litteraly destroy all who challanged them. But the odd couple that got caught in the cross fire were friends, but all is fair in love and war.

Jimmy - How did you get to be on staff?

Preach - While some say that I kissed Omar’s ass over and over again, the simple truth is that I pretty much had an excellent relationship with mobster from the very start and I wanted to do all I could do to make the game better and to help it grow. So yeah, I was pretty persistant in my struggle to get on staff.

Jimmy - Now onto the questions everyone wants to here, what is your side of the story about getting removed from staff and temporarily banned from the game?

Preach - That is a long story, so I’ll try to break it down as quickly as possible… I was having a real tough time in real life with friends getting killed and committing suicide. Then, my little brother committed suicide and I was in a really shitty place in life. I started drinking a whole lot and using drugs as well, mostly coke. My mind was all over the place and I wasn’t fit to be online let alone on staff. I lost my temper and took matters into my own hands by giving myself a few turns and 00ing a few players that I thought were cheating. Not a day goes by that I don’t regret that decision but what can you do? I’ve moved on but yeah it bugs me, I’ll never be on staff again especially since now theres really now way for me to atone for my sins and help keep mobster entertaining.

Jimmy - Everybody makes mistakes, keep your head up. I give you alot of credit and respect for coming back and still playing the game. Alot of others would have stayed away in shame. So since your return what has it been like?

Preach - Being back is great but I still find myself clicking on the staff button and when I get nothing it still bothers me. I click it and think of how great it would be if Omar gave me a second chance to right the wrongs that I’ve done. Like I said I feel like an asshole for what I did but as long as I play mobster, that is the burden that I will carry, and carry it I will. I thought not being on staff would give me more time to work on my medals however life has a way of screwing up your plans. I’ll get too them eventually.

Jimmy - Just stick with playing and you never know when that second chance might come. What happened is almost ancient history now. How do you feel about all the changes to the game that have taken place recently?

Preach - I don’t know. It’s been a big rollar coaster of good and bad decisions but I think the game has weathered the storm so to speak pretty well all things considered. Honestly I think Omar has taken the only steps he could have to save his site. Let’s face the facts, if you had a site and were paying domain fees ect. plus $500+ jackpots each week without anybody being a profitable amount of turns what would you do after a few months? Has Omar been right in ever way? No, for example with the account turns. I think he should have given everyone three months notice, and then wiped there accounts. If Omar had done more advertising on google like I had told him too a few years ago, I don’t think he would be having as much trouble finding more players/supporters. In fact, if he had spent the money he’s given out on non-profitable JP’s to date, the advertising would be a drop in the bucket compared to the growth and profitability of the site by now. But, what’s done is done and lets hope things improve from here on out.

Jimmy - I think Omar’s biggest mistake was to more or less eliminate the low end supporters by getting rid of subs. Personally I would like to see the old ranking system put back into place where supporters stayed level 3, free players who add turns were level 2 and no turns added meant level 1 and you didn’t have that option to choose at the start of every round. Instead, if you buy turns, your a supporter for lets say 30 days and that is that. Oh and get rid of the stupid turn expiration thing, all it does is piss people off. So what do you see in the future for themobster.com?

Preach - Well, like I said, that all depends on Omar’s decisions from here on out. I see mobster becoming what I wanted it to be, the most profitable and entertaining mafia game on the web. I don’t see mobster outright failing just continuing to struggle alot. All we can do is wait and see what happens but we have a great core of loyal players and staff that have helped make mobster what it is today. Do I think mobster will get back to the glory days of the past? Yes, I do, and I pray it will because whether you want to admit it or not, mobster has meant something special to all of us at one time or another. Some are on here because of friends, and some just like the thrills. None of us that are still here want the game to fail and if Omar takes the right steps the few of us that are left will help get the word out again.

Jimmy - Do you have anything else you would like to add in closing?

Preach - God bless you all! and to all those that are about to leave negative comments, you can suck my salt balls :D (Especially you Wait N Kill)

Jimmy - Thanks Preach, good luck!
